Megan Wheeler stood in the doorway staring at her girlfriend. Being away from Serena for six months had been so infuriating, Megan wasn’t sure how she had managed it; but if it had been tough on Megan, she could only imagine how difficult it had been for Serena, being trapped in the same apartment where they had first made love. She wondered if Serena was even interested in continuing their relationship; it had been 6 months after all.
Serena rolled over in her sleep, reaching for something or someone; is it really possible that she misses me or am I just deluding myself with hope? Serena mumbled as she stretched her arm out, clearly reaching for something. Megan walked over to the bed and carefully reached out to touch Serena’s hand when she suddenly heard someone say, “Don’t move.”
Serena woke upon hearing those words and was shocked to see Megan standing next to the bed with Casey Novak standing behind her holding a baseball bat. Megan kept eye contact with Serena, “Hey sweetheart, I’m back.”
“Casey will you put that damn bat down, and quit threatening my girlfriend! No wonder I can never keep anyone you scare them all away.”
Casey begrudgingly put down the bat, “Hey, I’m just trying to keep my friend safe.”
Megan visibly relaxed as Casey held out her hand, “Casey Novak, Serena’s best friend and protector.”
“I thought protecting her was my job,” Megan smirked, “though it’s nice to know she was safe while I was gone.”
“I’ll leave you two alone now; try to keep it down, okay?”
“No guarantees Case, I’ve been missing Megan for a long time.” Megan smiled at Serena’s admission, “I’ll try to contain my excitement though.”
Once Casey had left the room, shutting the door behind her, Serena had walked around the bed to Megan, “Shall we start again?”
“Sure; Serena, darling, I’m back.” Serena smiled before leaning in to kiss Megan. Megan moaned as she felt Serena’s tongue slide along her bottom lip before slipping into her mouth.
“I’m thrilled my lover has returned to me.”
“I can tell.”
